Our church is very close to signing a contract to purchase an 808 Masterpiece. Any suggestions anyone has on installation, customizing, etc.
We have a 300 seat sanctuary with a high vaulted ceiling. The proposed installation will have an 800 watt amp and speakers in the chancel with the newly instroduced wall mounted speakers in the santuary. The organ champers do not open out into the sanctuary which requires the wall mounted speakers that will give the effect of chambers that speak to both the choir and to the congregation.
I am planning on changing the default principal 8 and octave 4 to the Diapason and Princiapl 4 on the great and changing from Geigen Princiapal 8 to Geigen Diapason 8 on the swell. I am also switching the French trompette 8 on the swell to the more English trumpet 8 on the swell.
A person from this site whom I know suggested these modifications.
Also I read about problems with other Rodgers on turning on the organ etc. Have the problems mentioned been solved for the 808 model with the sequence and sound module yet?
Any other ideas or suggestions for the 808 model Masterpiece?

Any other ideas or suggestions for the 808 model Masterpiece? This will work....and you can always change them back yourself. Remember that you can also have different samples loaded to the organ, even after you purchase it.

A year ago, the first run of Masterpieces seemed to have booting problems, but updates have greatly limited that problem, taking it down to what seems to be an occasional slow boot after changes are made to the organ configuration, as it updates itself to be what you want it to be.
So in normal operation the problem has been eliminated.
The MX voice Module works fine except for kicking into GS mode without muting Master Channels, which hopefully they will update.
The MR suffers from following a piece of equipment, the PR-300, which was available for 10 years. Not simple to operate, many of those who became comfortable using it had a difficult time adjusting to the operation of MR, as the logic of operating it differs from the PR.
Others have customised the 808 stoplist and contorls extensively....maybe some one will post?
