Hi -- I'm new here and as so often happens feel a bit confused. Is the above the only post in the Allegiant and Insignia thread so far?
Specifically, I happen to be in search of cheapo possibilities for external speakers on an Insignia 535. Since this is the age of home stereo systems with multiple small(ish) speakers instead of the mammoth speaker cabinets of yesteryear, I was wondering of one could simply get a used stereo of that type, place the speakers from it in nooks and crannies around the church (with one or more subwoofers along the back wall of the sanctuary) and play the organ directly through them, plugging a single connection into both 1/4-inch output jacks in the console and splitting the connection for each speaker (or pair).
Or maybe get one of these wireless speaker setups where each speaker or pair (or single-channel group) requires AC plug-in.
A church member who's also a phone company tech says we could or should run it through the stereo amp itself.
Comments, please! Perhaps this has already been aired somewhere in cyberspace? We hope to buy the proper stuff from Rodgers when we get the money together (of which we have very little), but meanwhile I'm going deaf! Thanks!
