If a Rodgers® Masterpiece Organ will not start up try this:
Soft Boot for Masterpiece Organs:
1 Press and hold the bottom half of the power switch for 15 seconds. 2 Wait for approximately 90 seconds...be patient. 3 Start the organ (press and release the top of the POWER SWITCH).
This is a help if you've experienced a temporary power interupption...it's just like a RESET button on your computer.
Just kidding, but the world really is drowning in a sea of abbreviations that sometimes result in duplicates, no? Seriously, an RSS feed would be good for lots of folks. I like this new format too.
Noel, Thank you for posting this bit of information.
I have been having troubles getting the new organ to turn on. The Rodgers dealer told me to unplug the organ and wait a few minutes and boot it up again. However, the console is plugged in far underneath the orchestra pit, and there is not way to get down there on a Sunday morning when this happens.
Another thing is, I do not think there has been any power outages and yet the organ is in fact having problems booting up.
I was told that ours was one of the first Rodgers organs to be a Linux based system, is this true for all Masterpiece Series Organs?
Also I appreciate this web site, because I am new to the Digital organs. The pipe organ in my last church had a general sequencer, but far less advanced than the one on the organ I play now.
THis is what the music director sent me about our current setup as far as the midi sequencer is concerned:
"MR200 – is under the keyboards – it is a mechanism for recording sounds, pieces, etc., for playback later
MX – is the midi located under the stops on the left(drawer device). I am searching for an owner’s manual for that, and Rodney said he would order us one."
Can anyone interpret this? Has this information been misread? Whenever this system is turned on I get a piano sound on every manual and pedals, but the midi couplers are not turned on.
Thanks,
Josh White

UPDATES that become available will help eliminate this. The Organ is booting like a computer and early versions often had slow/non/boot problems. Based on a linux operating system, these problems can be solved and the sftware updated.

TTurn the MX off and then back on....play it...do you hear Piano without the MIDI couplers on?
Does this only happen when the MX Screen shows GS? SMF disks created on the earlier Rodgers PR-300 trigger the MX into GS mode but does not mute the master channels. This is a situation which needs an update from Roland engineering.
Email us with what you find. Noel is on leave of absence but we will try to help solve this with you.
